Xiaomi Mi 10 series to receive HyperOS update

The Xiaomi Mi 10 series, which was launched in 2020, will receive the HyperOS update.

Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s system software department, announced that the HyperOS update for the Mi 10 series will be released in April. Further details are yet to be revealed, but the initial release is expected to be limited to beta testers.

Lucky Xiaomi Mi 10 series users

The users of the Xiaomi Mi 10 series are in luck; these devices (including the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Ultra) were not covered by Xiaomi’s 2021 software policy, which promised only three years of Android updates.

The aforementioned smartphones were sold with Android 10 and MIUI 11 by default, and last year received their third Android update (Android 13) along with MIUI 14.

Fourth major software update

According to Xiaomi, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will receive their fourth major software update in the form of HyperOS. HyperOS will be the third major update for the Mi 10 Ultra, as it was initially launched with MIUI 12.

No Android 14 for Mi 10 series

The HyperOS update for the Mi 10 series will likely not come with Android 14. Xiaomi’s custom skin for older phones is based on Android 13.
