WhatsApp’s New Navigation Bar Is Now Available to All Android Users

The new WhatsApp navigation bar is now officially available to all Android users of the messaging app. The official WhatsApp account on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed that the new look for the navigation section has replaced the old version and includes four tabs: Chats, Updates, Communities, and Calls.

The new look had been made available to some beta users in a scattered manner over the past few months. The new design for the WhatsApp navigation bar has been available on the iPhone version for some time now. However, the order of the tabs is slightly different on iOS than on Android.

WhatsApp says the new navigation bar is closer to the user’s finger and easier to access. The update is more compatible with the Material 3.0 design language and looks great on devices like the Google Pixel phone that use the Material You language.

Given the increasing size of today’s smartphones, the new version of WhatsApp can make it easier to access different sections. If you use this messaging app, you can enjoy the new look by updating it.

Here are some additional details about the new WhatsApp navigation bar:

  • The new bar is located at the bottom of the screen, instead of the top.
  • The four tabs are Chats, Updates, Communities, and Calls.
  • The Chats tab shows all of your conversations.
  • The Updates tab shows your status updates and the status updates of your contacts.
  • The Communities tab shows the communities that you are a member of.
  • The Calls tab shows your call history.
