WhatsApp Introduces Chat Filters for Easier Message Management

WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to make it easier to find specific chats.

Meta has added a number of new chat filters to WhatsApp to make it easier to access different types of messages. These filters include “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups.”

The “All” filter is selected by default and shows all messages. The “Unread” filter is for viewing messages that you have not yet seen.

WhatsApp previously offered a way to view unread messages through a filter in the search bar, but with the new feature, these messages are more readily accessible.

Meta says the “Groups” filter is for quickly scrolling through all group chats. This filter will also show group conversations in Communities.

WhatsApp is reportedly working on other filters such as “Contacts” to filter messages from unknown people and businesses, and “Favorites” to mark more frequently interacted with contacts, and even custom chat filters in various beta versions of the app.

WhatsApp has announced that the filter options are rolling out today and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
