Samsung Galaxy A33 receives March 2024 security update

Samsung has released a new security update for the Galaxy A33, following the release of the March 2024 security update for various other Galaxy models.

The new update for the Galaxy A33 has the firmware version A336NKSS6DXC1 and a download size of 246.47MB. It is currently available for users in South Korea, and it will be released for other regions soon.

The update does not add any new features to the Galaxy A33. It only fixes 44 security vulnerabilities that were discovered in previous software versions.

To get the update, Galaxy A33 users in South Korea can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Users in other regions can check for the update manually by going to the same menu.

The Galaxy A33 is expected to receive the One UI 6.1 update in the future, along with several other mid-range Samsung phones. The Galaxy A33 was launched with a price tag of around $424.

Here are some of the security vulnerabilities that were fixed in the March 2024 security update:

  • CVE-2024-XXXX: A critical vulnerability in the Android kernel that could allow an attacker to gain root privileges on the device.
  • CVE-2024-XXXX: A high-severity vulnerability in the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets that could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the device.
  • CVE-2024-XXXX: A medium-severity vulnerability in the Samsung Knox security framework that could allow an attacker to bypass security features.

Samsung Galaxy A33 users are advised to install the update as soon as possible to protect their devices from these security vulnerabilities.
