Samsung Brings Galaxy AI Features to Older Flagships

Samsung Expands Galaxy AI Availability to Galaxy S21 and S22 Series, Foldables, and Tab S8

Samsung has officially announced that it will be bringing AI-powered features to its older flagship devices. The company has confirmed that the One UI 6.1 update, which is scheduled for release in May 2024, will bring Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Tab S8 series.

Due to hardware limitations, the Galaxy S21 and S22 series will only receive two AI features: Circle to Search and Chat Assist. Circle to Search allows users to quickly search for information by circling text or images on the screen, while Chat Assist provides AI-powered suggestions for text messages.

As expected, all of the AI features that were introduced with the Galaxy S23 FE will also be making their way to the Galaxy S22 series. These features include:

Generative Edit: This feature allows users to remove unwanted objects from photos or change the background.

Real-time Language Translation: This feature allows users to translate conversations in real time.

AI-generated Wallpapers: This feature creates personalized wallpapers based on the user’s preferences.

One UI 6.1 Release Schedule

The One UI 6.1 update is expected to be released in May 2024 for the following devices:

Galaxy S21 series
Galaxy S22 series
Galaxy Z Fold 3
Galaxy Z Flip 3
Galaxy Z Fold 4
Galaxy Z Flip 4
Galaxy Tab S8 series

Overall, the expansion of Galaxy AI features to older devices is a welcome move from Samsung. It will allow more users to experience the benefits of AI-powered features, and it will help to keep Samsung’s flagship devices competitive.
