Realme GT Neo 6 SE: The brightest smartphone display ever

Realme has unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone, the GT Neo 6 SE, in China. The successor to the GT Neo 5 SE, the new phone boasts several impressive features, including a 6,000-nit display and a powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor.

The standout feature of the Realme GT Neo 6 SE is undoubtedly its display. The 6.78-inch OLED panel uses BOE’s new technology and is the brightest display in the mobile industry.

The maximum brightness of 6,000 nits is likely only achieved when displaying HDR content or in specific scenarios. In normal use, the new Realme phone has a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits (in auto mode) and 1,000 nits (in manual mode).

The Realme GT Neo 6 SE’s display has a resolution of 2,780 x 1,264 pixels and supports a variable refresh rate of 120Hz (thanks to 8T LTPO technology), a touch sampling rate of 2,500Hz, and a PWM dimming rate of 2,160Hz. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has thin bezels measuring just 1.36mm.

Realme has used a new AI eye protection technology called Greenfield in the GT Neo 6 SE. Realme claims that this is the first active eye protection solution in the mobile industry.

The new Realme phone is available in two colors: Silver and Green. The former uses a nano-mirror coating and AG technology to achieve a unique titanium-like texture.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip is built on the same technology and architecture as the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Realme has included a large 10,014mm² vapor chamber cooling system with a new structure to control the phone’s heat.

The GT Neo 6 SE features gaming features such as GT Mode 5.0 for optimized gaming performance, Geek Performance Panel 2.0 for monitoring system performance, and a Burning Mode for maximum performance.

Other features that will please gamers include RAM optimization and antenna boost for uninterrupted and stable connection while gaming.

The new Realme phone is powered by a 5,500mAh battery. The phone has the SUPERVOOC S power management chip to increase battery life. Thanks to the battery’s ultra-thin design and GaN technology with full link, Realme was able to keep the phone’s weight down to 191 grams.

The Realme GT Neo 6 SE’s battery supports 100W charging. Such a charger can charge 50% of the battery’s capacity in 12 minutes. Realme claims that the battery health will be maintained even after four years of daily charging.

The GT Neo 6 SE features the Xiaobu assistant, which offers AI-based features such as online translation, content generation, article summarization, and call summaries.

The rear panel of the new Realme phone houses three cameras: a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX882 sensor) with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX355 sensor), and a 32MP selfie camera (Sony IMX615 sensor).

Other features of the Realme GT Neo 6 SE include a linear vibration motor, NFC, GPS, IP65 certification, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and Android 14 with Realme UI 5.

The Realme GT Neo 6 SE is priced at around $235 for the base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Realme GT Neo 6 SE is priced at around $260 and $290 for the middle configurations with 12GB of RAM and 16GB of RAM, respectively.
