New AI Model Stable Video 3D Released to Help Create Videos from 2D Images

A new AI model called Stable Video 3D (SV3D) has been released by Stability AI to help make it easier to create videos using ordinary 2D images.

The model is designed to make 3D video creation more accessible and features two main components: SV3D-u and SV3D-p. SV3D-u takes 2D images as input and generates a video while preserving the camera view. SV3D-p, on the other hand, enables the creation of 3D videos with camera motion.

Stable Video 3D builds on Stable Video Diffusion

Stability AI says that SV3D is based on its Stable Video Diffusion model and offers improved quality and advanced 3D capabilities. The company has previous experience in building AI models for 3D object creation, having released Stable Zero 123 in December 2023.

SV3D can generate videos from different viewpoints

SV3D can generate videos from different viewpoints of an object by combining the Stable Video Diffusion image-to-video model with the ability to specify a camera path. Stability AI says that using video diffusion models, as opposed to the image diffusion models used in Stable Zero 123, offers several advantages for producing better quality output.

Stable Video 3D is currently available for commercial users

Stable Video 3D is currently available for commercial users and anyone with a paid Stability AI subscription. Subscriptions start at $20 per month.

Here are some additional details about Stable Video 3D:

  • The model can generate videos with a resolution of up to 1024×576 pixels.
  • The frame rate of the generated videos can be up to 24 frames per second.
  • The model can generate videos with a duration of up to 4 seconds.
  • The model can be used to create videos of objects, scenes, and characters.
  • The model can be used to create videos for a variety of purposes, including animation, gaming, and virtual reality.

Overall, Stable Video 3D is a promising new AI model that could make it easier and more affordable to create 3D videos.
