Microsoft Invests $1.5 Billion in UAE AI Firm G42 to Boost Global AI Development

Microsoft has announced a $1.5 billion strategic investment in G42, a leading UAE-based artificial intelligence (AI) technology holding company. The investment will strengthen the two companies’ collaboration on bringing the latest Microsoft AI technologies and skilling initiatives to the UAE and other countries around the world.

As part of the expanded partnership, Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, will join the G42 Board of Directors. The two companies will also support the establishment of a $1 billion fund for developers to foster a skilled AI workforce.

The investment is expected to accelerate the development and adoption of AI technologies in the UAE and other emerging markets. It will also provide opportunities for businesses in these markets to leverage AI to innovate and grow.
