Hyundai, Kia Partner with Baidu to Develop Advanced Car Technologies

Hyundai and Kia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Baidu to develop various technologies for smart and connected cars.

The South Korean automakers have been investing heavily in electric vehicles and driver-assistance technologies in recent years, and the new MOU with Baidu is the latest effort by the two companies to advance in the field of smart and connected cars.

Baidu is a Chinese technology giant best known for its search engine and artificial intelligence services.

Baidu has previously attempted to launch its own electric car with an AI chatbot. The electric car with chatbot project is part of Baidu’s broader plan to become a major player in the electric vehicle market.

The new MOU could give Baidu a stronger foothold in the automotive market in addition to competitive advantages and provide Kia and Hyundai vehicles with the company’s latest technologies.
